OnePlus 3 & OnePlus 3T are Getting Android 8.0 Oreo Open Beta with New Features
Today OnePlus CEO had confirmed that their OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will be getting the latest software, Android 8.0 Oreo before this year will end. Known for keeping their promises and their devices always updated, OnePlus has already started releasing the Open Beta for Android 8.0 Oreo on OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
OnePlus has confirmed the official launch of the Open Beta in a blog post and there are several reports from users that confirm getting the update. The update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T is both good news and bad news for the users, as they’re getting the latest operating system, but Android 8.0 Oreo will be the last major update for their devices. This doesn’t mean that users will not get any bug fixes of future improvements for the operating system, but Oreo will be the last one available for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

OnePlus 3 will get the update via Open beta 24 and the OnePlus 3T will get it via Open Beta 15. The updates will bring more features to both devices, such as: picture – in – picture, auto – fill, quick setting design, smart text selection and more.
The update to Android 8.0 Oreo Open Beta will also include the security patch that was launched this September.
Users will also see Notification dots in Launcher. They will also be able to upload photos to Shot on OnePlus through wallpapers by signing in to the OnePlus account.
In their blog post, OnePlus has mentioned some issues that users may face in the Open Beta version. They might experience some lag in the Fingerprint sensor department, there might be some stability issues with NFC and Bluetooth. OnePlus is also working on improving performance and compatibility of third party apps.
Expect to have your app and cache data wiped when you get the new build, but don’t worry about the internal storage, as it will be intact.
