So that’s why Marshall Wittman stopped blogging!

From the Courant:

But Wittmann, a registered independent, has made it clear in recent years he is more comfortable as a Democrat, and has been serving the moderate DLC as a senior fellow.

Lieberman, who earlier this month won re-election as an independent, has close ties to Wittmann’s former employers. Lieberman has often partnered with McCain on legislation, and invokes the senator frequently. And Lieberman chaired the DLC in the late 1990s.

“There is no better person to take the helm during this new time in my Senate career than Marshall,” Lieberman said Tuesday. “Marshall has been a trusted outside advisor to me for some time now and I’m glad he will be bring his experience and wisdom to my staff. Those qualities, along with his independence and diverse background, make him the ideal captain of my new Senate Communications team.”

Congrats Marshall. Hope you keep Joe honest.

  1. I am not sure how a “registered Independent” can be “more comfortable as a Democrat.” Marshall has never been “a Democrat” and has said many times that his ideal candidate for President is John McCain who most agree is a moderate conservative. More than anything else, Marshall Whittman is pro-war. He’s as hawkish as anyone on the right including the neocons. He is pro-labor and gives lip-service to the environment. I guess that’s what makes him a centrist. If you listen to him attack Democrats he typically uses Republican polemics which makes him ineffective as a force within Democratic circles. In short, he has the diplomatic skills of a Don Rumsfeld. In his defence, he’s been particularly hard on the Republicans the last 2 years except where issues of war are a concerned. He’s Nationalistic to a fault.

  2. I am glad to see Wittman has made his love affair with Lieberman official. While I hold none of the animosity towards Wittman or Lieberman that the previous commentors seem to possess, I had found Wittman’s infatuation with Lieberman to be a little too much. Joe is hardly the only independent voice and he’s as much a typical oportunistic politician as he is a bold trailblazer. But Wittman had stars in his eyes…

  3. Hey there ive been wondering the same thing for the longest time now thanks for making it clear as for what alan said i would tottally agree

  4. So What else is new in U.S. politics? In this world, anything is possible and each one have his agenda. all we need to do is to keep our eyes open with what is going on in the political arena.

  6. The democratic candidate Barack Obama is not only becoming popular but also a dream about to be accomplished to prove that there is a kind of equality in the United States. Bringing a black man into the White House will be a great achievement in the history of America and the world.
